FUNKY PORTRAITS are a new concept in Portraiture.

We’ve all seen traditional studio portraiture of smiley, happy faces taken against a plain white backdrop. Lovely, but everywhere. However, most of the images we see in glossy fashion magazines don’t feature this plain white backdrop anymore. That’s because fashion images need to stand out from the crowd and be a little more exciting. For the first time FUNKY PORTRAITS brings you the opportunity of having a portrait in the style of a glossy fashion magazine. Something truly unique and sophisticated and , well for want of a better word, FUNKY.

I have spent years taking pictures of wedding guests in our evening ‘mini studio’ and no matter how often people tell me they’re not photogenic, when I show them the picture at the back of my camera, they’re amazed. I love it when they return with their partner later in the evening for a few more pictures.

From “Ihate having my picture taken” to “can you take a few more?” in a few short minutes.

Guess what? Gok Wan knows… Beauty isn’t just about how you look but how you feel. If you feel good about yourself then magic happens. What I’m good at is making you feel at ease in front of my camera. It’s the essence of a Funky Portrait.
